A policeman was killed in a fatal accident outside SGH (Singapore General Hospital) today, on his way to work.
According to a press statement released by the Police, Cpl Abdul Halim Bin Abdul Samad, was due to report to work at 10am to perform routine security duties at Parliament House.
The 22-year-old was dressed in civilian clothes. He was pronounced dead by paramedics at 9:40am, after his motorcycle collided with a van at the junction of Eu Tong Sen and Hospital Drive at 9:30am.
SOMEONE took these pictures of the fatal accident and sent them in via email.
HE contacted SCDF and a spokesman said:
“When SCDF arrived on the scene, the motorcyclist involved in the accident had already passed away.
“Two people were conveyed to SGH for injuries.”

"Cpl Abdul Halim Bin Abdul Samad was killed in a traffic accident this morning while on his way to work. His motorcycle was involved with an accident with a van at the junction of Eu Tong Seng St and Hospital Drive at about 9.30am this morning and he was pronounced dead by paramedics at about 9.40am.
"The 22-year-old officer had been posted to Central Police Division after joining the force in 2007 after his National Service stint, part of which he had served in Central Police Division. He was due to report at work at 10am to perform routine security duties at Parliament House.
"The Commissioner of Police, Mr Khoo Boon Hui, expressed his condolences to the family, “I am saddened by the sudden loss of such a young officer in the line of duty. We will do everything possible to assist the family to get through these difficult times.” "
